Now that Governor Matt Blunt has signed a bill authorizing Missouri school districts to waive days missed during the January ice storm, it appears the last day of school for Joplin R-8 students will be Thursday, May 24.
The final decision will be made Tuesday when the R-8 Board of Education meets.
The final day at South Middle School will be a half day, featuring the annual talent and awards program.
