Dillon McVey drew nothing but net on four three-pointers as the East Middle School eighth grade squad defeated Cassville 41-25 in a game that ended moments ago. McVey led all scorers with 16 points.
Marshal Dillon had plenty of help in shooting down the visitors. Quantal Brown added 10 points, Chase Hall eight, and Eli Taylor seven.
Brown put the punctuation on the game, with a steal and layup to provide East's final points.
East grabbed an early lead courtesy of a McVay three-pointer and a Brown basket, set up by an assist from Hall. East led 9-4 after one quarter.
Each team scored four points in the second quarter, then a torrent of three-pointers, two from McVey and a banker from Eli Taylor enabled East to pull away from the visitors in the third period, which ended with the locals leading 28-14.
The fourth quarter began with Brown snaring an offensive rebound and nailing the putback to build East's lead to 16 points. After a Cassville free throw, McVay hit a layup from a Terrell Gilmore assist. Brown scored four of the last seven points, sandwiching his baskets around McVay's final three-pointer.
