Cash prizes are being given this week to those who placed in the recently concluded third annual South Middle School Essay Contest. The contest was won by eighth grader Fox Navarre, who received $15. (Note: Her essay can be found at this link.) Receiving $10 prizes were second place finisher Jessica Cashion, seventh grade winner Savanah Sweeton, and sixth grade winner Christian Allen.
Third place winner Doug Pumphrey, who was the winner his seventh grade year, received $5, with fourth place winner Michelle Holden receiving $3 and fifth place winner MacKenszee Roberts receiving $2. Receiving one dollar were: Andrew Allen, Vone' Britt, Mayra Castaneda, Halie Endicott, Jessica Erwin, Corey Hounschell, Zoe' Mowry, Melaina Nicolas, Bobby Roland, Mollie Sanders, Mary White, Craig Yeoman and Tamara Zajac.
